September 12, 2005

PRESENT: Clem Lam, Lynn Taylor, Jim Lutter, Keith Wallis, Ben Discoe

  1. Magoon property - Alan Okamoto's office sent Partition and Quitclaim Exchange deeds to County Corporation Counsel for review with instruction to have the Mayor sign. Once they are signed, they are to be forwarded to Title Guaranty for Magoon's signature. This needs to be followed up - Clem to call Kaz to make sure this happens quickly.
  2. Carter Center - Last Friday representatives of Carter Center, Canada France, Outdoor Circle and W T & G met to discuss the trees to be cut, trail alignments and parking area behind Carter Center. The trail was laid out in green tape, trees to be removed were marked with blue tape (approximately 19). David Pietsch was to meet with Mike Kraus later in the day to get an estimate for their removal and to assess the condition and health of the remaining trees and to recommend removal, trimming or leaving alone. All agreed to abide by Mike's assessment. Pietsch is willing to pay for the tree removal and trimming but only to ground level - grinding of stumps below the surface would have to be done by others. Avi and Stan needs to coordinate agreement of partnership for NRCS request.
  3. Parker Ranch - Riley Smith was called by Greg and Clem to see where Parker Ranch was with trail easement approval - he said he would get on it. - Greg should follow up on this.
  4. Work day - Ben Discoe has organized a WT&G workday at the Nature Park for Saturday Sept 17 from 9:00 to 12:00. Trail area along the south boundary of the Nature Park will be cleared.
  5. The lemon gum tree behind Magoon's property was cut by the County at the request of the Waimea Country Day School.
